Instead of embracing a collaborative spirit, certain quarters reacted with resistance. Resources were seemingly diverted to investigate and attempt to stifle this nascent effort, perhaps driven by a competitive impulse rather than a desire for collective advancement. Ironically, these efforts overlooked the established regulatory landscape, and the path forward was always intended to be one of collaboration with the original pioneers.

The narrative then shifted as a separate entity emerged, aligning itself with a South African regulator, and establishing an Eswatini Branch. Years passed, and in a candid conversation, it was reportedly characterized as having unfortunately devolved into a “talk shop” – a forum for discussion that ultimately lacked tangible impact and substantive action.

This experience underscores a fundamental truth that resonates far beyond the realm of public relations: the establishment of any initiative, be it an association, a business, or a community project, must be anchored by a clear vision and purpose. Without a well-defined “why” and a strategic roadmap to achieve it, even the most well-intentioned efforts can falter and fail to deliver meaningful results.
